Ms. Feng is very excited to teach Mandarin at BCS for the second year!

Yi Feng was born and raised in China. She received her B.A. in English Language and Literature from Shanghai International Studies University. Yi was interested in human development at different stages so she applied to and was accepted into the Master of Education program at Harvard Graduate of Education with a concentration on Human Development of Psychology. During the year at Harvard, Yi had the opportunity to work with students and teachers and she was thrilled that she could make an impact on others. Yi completed the Teacher Education program at Simmons College and received her second Master degree in 2011. Yi holds Massachusetts and California teaching credentials in Mathematics and Mandarin Chinese. Yi is very passionate about teaching. It is her dream to help students reach their potential and become global citizens.
Before joining BCS, Yi has taught Math and Chinese to middle school and high school students at different levels for four years at King Philip Regional High School and Stoughton High School in the Boston Area. She also taught Chinese to elementary school students in summer camps. In addition to teaching, Yi has years of experience in educational consulting, which guides international students in independent school and college application. As a pianist, Yi started playing the piano when she was five years old and enjoys sharing the beauty of music with children.
After living in Boston for six years, Yi and her family moved to the Bay area. She is excited to teach Mandarin at BCS. In Yi’s spare time she enjoys music, travelling, cooking, swimming, playing tennis and spending time with her family and friends.
